Key Principles
- Your data is YOUR data — we don't store audio, transcripts, or usage content
- Email only — the only thing AskElephant retains is your email for marketing
- Online processing required — dictation and read-back use cloud services
- Transparent AI — cloud features send data to OpenAI for processing only, then discard
- You're in control — delete local app data, unsubscribe from emails, use your own API key
Peanut currently requires an active internet connection for dictation and text-to-speech features. These features use cloud processing to generate transcripts and read-back output.
Peanut is powered by AskElephant, Inc. ("AskElephant," "we," "us," "our"), a company registered in Utah, United States. AskElephant is the data controller for any personal information we do collect.
We promise we never sell your data: never have, never will. This policy applies to the Peanut desktop application and Flux, and explains what we collect, how we handle your information, and the control you have over your data.
